Editor's letter

Dear Babes,

Never are great networks more important than when times are tough. And there's no disputing that right now there are many businesses that are having to tighten the belt and work harder than ever to bring in the bills.

Keeping your network going and growing it is one of the best insurance policies at a time like this.

Having just returned from an extended trip overseas, I have come back to news that a number of clients and contacts are struggling from the inevitable cutbacks that come during an economic crisis. And one of the things I am already working on is providing introductions for these talented people, in an effort to find them new opportunities.

The great joy of networking is not neccessarily what you can gain, but what you can give other people.

So I encourage all of you to use these uncertain times to take full advantage of networking opportunities.

It's also a time when it's critical we stay as positive as possible and take time to celebrate the achievements of the year.

The Triumph Babes lunch is just the ticket. We have a few tables still available, so if you haven't already booked your ticket to the event on 28 November, get some friends and clients together, and come along.

In the leadup to the 2008 lunch we begin our Postcards from Paris series, a recount of the recent tour Jane and I took with Elizabeth Clarke to Paris for Fashion Week.

We will be raising money for Youngcare with the raffle of an absolutely stunning acquamarine ring designed by Ashley Douglas of the Brisbane Arcade, valued at $8000.

And there will be a very special musical performance on the day.
