Occupation:
Writer

Professional details:
Currently writing lifestyle columns with a shoe ‘theme’ for publications in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne, while working on my first book.

I most feel like a Babe when
I slip on a fabulous pair of stilettos; the rest of the ensemble is almost immaterial.

I love coming to work each day because
I can surreptitiously pass off shoe shopping as research!

I first knew I wanted to be a writer when
A gorgeous author friend actually thought my work was good and encouraged me to go for it! The one thing that got me where I am in my career today was ... Never passing up the opportunity to meet someone new and interesting.

I feel most challenged in my career when
The facts contradict what I have been asked to write. Striking a balance to tell the entire story, with humour, can be tricky.

Tracey Millard

I feel most successful in my career when
Someone tells me what I wrote made them laugh.

The highlight of my career has been
Getting paid for my first column.

If I wasn’t a writer, I’d be on a stage somewhere
I spent my first 21yrs on the stage in ballet and musical productions.

The best piece of advice I have ever received was
If you want to be a writer, write!

Next on my professional agenda is
Getting my manuscript finished.

To me, Work/life balance means
Doing what inspires me and affording time to spend precious moments with those I love. In ten years time I hope to be ... happy and fulfilled.

I relax by
Devouring a cheeky Sav Blanc and a block of cheese with a good friend.

The best holiday I ever had was
Italy with my husband, daughter and my parents, it was so special to share that time and those experiences together.

My greatest love is
My family.

My favourite time of day is
Dusk, in any location, I’m a sucker for a sunset.

Something that makes me really happy is
Hearing my daughter laugh.

Something that makes me really mad is
Negative people who have nothing nice to say.

I treasured my childhood because
It was so much fun, I have a wonderful family.

The most interesting person I ever met was
Steve Irwin; he was the most passionate, genuine human being I have ever met.

My biggest regret in life is
I don’t have regrets; every path I have chosen has made me who I am today.

My greatest achievement is
Still coming!
