Consultations rate

Setting aside the time to have a consultation is often something we ignore or dismiss especially if we are time poor, think we are too young for a program or simply sceptical about the importance of regular treatments and home care. However salon therapists all agree that the best results occur with clients on a program. Sound expensive? Not really. Value for money spent? Best possible chance.

The best way to guarantee results is to have an action plan and obviously an idea of what it will cost to get to where you want. By giving your therapist that fifteen minutes of discussion time about the results you are looking for and an honest reply about what could be achievable, you are already establishing the professional relationship required to get you there.

Like all journeys, it may sound quite a romantic idea to set out on a mystery trip, but lack of planning might find frustrating delays and hidden costs in getting to where we want to go. We can tell ourselves we are having the treatments to relax, feel pampered and cocooned.

All of this is true. But ladies, let's be honest - we present our faces, décolletages and bodies to our salon of choice because we want to stop the clock!

When next at the salon ask your therapist:

  • What is my skin doing right now?

  • If my concerns are (your skin fears), what are your concerns for me?

  • How do we go forward from here? What are the priorities?

  • How often should I have treatments? And which ones? Why?

  • What skin care supports the treatments you have recommended? (You don't need a lot of product just some excellent professional ones formulated for real results)

  • When should we review again? (Every appointment should be an assessment of progress - Are you enjoying the journey? Can you see and feel it doing you good?)

Consultations then are simply the best way of making sure your precious time spent in salon has real value. It just means that successful business babes are doing what they know works in other parts of their lives: good choices require the right information from the right people.

As that now famous organising babe Julie Morgensten says in "Time management and Organising from the Inside Out":

Planning is as productive an activity as anything else on your to-do list. When your goals aren't clear, trying to reach them is like trying to navigate your way through a strange city with a sketchy map - frustrating and riddled with opportunities to make wrong turns.
