Dear Babes,

As I sit at my desk, the dulcet tones of Etta James are filling the office. What a song.

The sentiments may be all about finding love, but it is at this time of year, and particularly this year, I think the notion of "at last" is also one of relief that there is some downtime in sight.

It has been one hell of a year.

And if we are to believe the forecasts, next year will bring more challenge to businesses of all sizes.

It's well known that in times like these people do not hold back on the little luxuries of life - a night out at the movies or great fresh seafood at home.

But it is also a time when businesses of all sizes should not hold back on finding opportunities to grow their profiles and their networks.

I have been speaking with many business owners in recent weeks who are recognizing there is no time like the present to tell the world about their unique product or service and to stand out from the crowd.

So if you aren't already, now is a great time to become an active member of Babes and be noticed.

There were lots of great new connections made at our annual end of year lunch - The 2008 Triumph 'Vive Les Babes' Annual Lunch at Portside Wharf.

Lots of Babes said it was the best lunch ever - there was a great vibe, Alex Bernard did a superb job as MC as did Brisbane's own Eartha Kitt, Barb Fordham and Bella Diva.

Congratulations to all of our award winners.

And on behalf of Jane and Marc to all of you, and your families, we wish you a very happy Christmas time, some time to relax and we look forward to seeing you all again, reinvigorated and ready to rock in 2009.
