Editor's letter

Dear Babes,

I can't believe it's August. Wasn't it mid-May five minutes ago? But happily we are just weeks away from the start of Spring, in my view the most sublime time of the year in our beautiful subtropical climate.

And for those of us who live for the warmer months, the thought of balmy summer nights and days in the sun are sustaining thoughts when the feet hit the draughty wood floorboards on our bitterly cold mornings.

A change of season, means beautiful new fashion to enjoy and it's fitting that the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival Brisbane, hosted by Hilton - closes winter in the last week of August.

This year we are really excited to be presenting a special Babes event at the Fashion Festival for the first time. Babes in Business and Fosters will present a gorgeous cocktail soiree with special guest Leona Edmiston at 7:30pm including a ticket to Leona's solo show at 9:00pm on Tuesday 26th of August. Tickets are limited, so make sure you book quickly.

Also, don't miss Style Mistress and foundation Babe Elizabeth Clarke as she presents Queensplaza fashion trends at Pretaportea in Below7 at Hilton Brisbane, on Friday 29th of August at 11:00am. The Babes will be there in force, so it will be another great opportunity to network with fellow Babes.

And get along to see the latest from Babe designer Sacha Drake as she showcases her Spring/Summer range in the Mercedes-Benz Group Show 4 at 6:00pm on Thursday 28 August.

Our perennial partner Fosters are also on board at this year's Festival for the first time. So make sure you allow plenty of time to enjoy a wine or two in the spectacular Rosemount 'O' Bar on Level 5 at Hilton Brisbane every night of the event.

And if you're looking for a great way to celebrate the countdown to the Bejing Olympics, make sure you join us this Friday night, 8th of August at the Pineapple Hotel, Woolloongabba for our Tony Harper wine tasting event. Lots to learn as we learn about some beautiful wines from the Fosters portfolio as well as plenty of time to catch up with fellow members and guests.

And don't miss the profile on site this week with the divine Adrian Barker of Libertine Parfumerie at West End. So fabulous.
